Clinic Corner News

We are pleased to announce that Ann Vansnick has accepted the fulltime receptionist position at the clinic. Ann has been working casual at the clinic for a couple years so this transition should be quite smooth. Lisa Clark and Kayleigh Clark have been hired as casual receptionists for the clinic.

This is a friendly reminder to everyone who contacts the clinic or uses the clinic that violent, abusive, foul language and rude behaviour are not acceptable. This is an Island Health wide policy. Sometimes cancellations occur at the clinic that is out of our control. While we understand this may be inconvenient, it is not the fault of staff. Staff should be treated with respect at all times.

Another reminder that the clinic is busy and do not expect to get same day appointments. It is common now for patients to have to wait 3-4 days to get an appointment with the nurse practitioner and 1-2 weeks for a lab appointment. Plan ahead with prescription renewals and standing order labs. Thinking you will get "fit in" will not be the case, even if you are out of medications. If you have been on a medication for awhile, a pharmacist might be able to give you an emergency supply for 1-2 weeks until you are seen.
